Rosewood and Ivory Sofa, 19th Century
A richly decorated sofa featuring inlaid classical and floral motifs, with rosettes, vine tendrils, and horse heads on the backrest, interspersed with brass inlay profiles.
Set on curved legs with gilded bronze mounts in the form of feline paws.
The armrest ends are sculpted in the round as dog heads.
Upholstered in capitonné faux leather, not original.
Condition report: Some brass elements are loose or missing. Surface scratches, heavy wear to the non-original upholstery, and visible restorations.
