A refined Transitional-period commode, opening with two drawers sans traverse, richly decorated with inlaid floral marquetry on an amaranth wood ground. The central motif features a flower-filled vase, framed by geometric fillets; the sides are adorned with urns and floral pots.
Simulated fluted uprights lead to four splayed legs, terminating in gilt bronze lion-paw sabots.
The veined red marble top enhances the symmetry and visual harmony.
Fitted with gilt and finely chased bronze mounts, exemplifying the elegance of the Louis XV–Louis XVI Transition style.
