Suite of Four Cabriolet Armchairs
French work, Louis XV period (circa 1740–1760)
A set of four moulded, carved, and regilt armchairs, raised on angled cabriole legs.
The shaped apron is adorned with refined rocaille carving, featuring stylised seeds and foliage, typical of mid-18th-century French Rococo.
The violin-shaped backs lend a graceful and curvilinear silhouette.
Removable seat frames (à châssis) upholstered in sky-blue silk lampas decorated with floral branches and matching trim.
(Restorations, regilding, minor surface wear)
An elegant expression of Louis XV-era comfort and ornament, combining flowing lines with sophisticated decorative detail.
